Non racconta il domani. Racconta l’istante esatto in cui scegliamo di immaginarlo.
Oltre la soglia del tempo nasce da una domanda: che cosa accade all’essere umano quando si trova di fronte a qualcosa che ancora non esiste?
Il progetto indaga quello spazio sottile che separa il presente dal possibile. Non cerca di rappresentare il futuro né di anticiparne la forma, ma di osservare la condizione dell’uomo davanti all’ignoto: il momento della sospensione, dell’attesa, della scelta.
Una figura umana, riconoscibile attraverso il rosso, attraversa luoghi apparentemente ordinari che perdono progressivamente la loro funzione originaria per trasformarsi in spazi mentali. Architetture temporanee, percorsi, margini, aperture e orizzonti diventano soglie. Non indicano una destinazione: suggeriscono una possibilità.
La figura non è il ritratto di un individuo. È una presenza simbolica, fragile e determinata allo stesso tempo. Può cambiare volto, corpo, età e luogo. Ciò che rimane è il rosso, elemento ricorrente che attraversa il progetto come una traccia e restituisce alla presenza umana una continuità.
Il paesaggio non è uno sfondo. È uno spazio di confronto tra ciò che conosciamo e ciò che ancora possiamo immaginare.
Oltre la soglia del tempo si sviluppa come un’opera aperta, destinata a proseguire attraverso territori e contesti differenti. Ogni nuovo luogo diventa una diversa manifestazione della stessa domanda.
Perché forse il futuro non è un luogo verso cui stiamo andando.
Forse comincia nel momento in cui decidiamo di guardare oltre la soglia.
Beyond the Threshold of Time
It does not portray tomorrow. It portrays the exact moment in which we choose to imagine it.
Beyond the Threshold of Time begins with a question: what happens to the human being when confronted with something that does not yet exist?
The project investigates the subtle space separating the present from the possible. It does not attempt to represent the future or anticipate its form. Instead, it observes the human condition when facing the unknown: a moment of suspension, expectation and choice.
A human figure, recognisable through the colour red, moves through apparently ordinary places that gradually lose their original function and become mental spaces. Temporary structures, pathways, margins, openings and horizons become thresholds. They do not indicate a destination; they suggest a possibility.
The figure is not the portrait of an individual. It is a symbolic presence, both vulnerable and determined. Its face, body, age and location may change. What remains is red: a recurring element running through the work like a trace, giving continuity to the human presence.
The landscape is not a backdrop. It becomes a space of confrontation between what we know and what we are still capable of imagining.
Beyond the Threshold of Time is conceived as an open-ended body of work, evolving across different territories and contexts. Each new place becomes another manifestation of the same question.
Perhaps the future is not a place towards which we are travelling.
Perhaps it begins the moment we decide to look beyond the threshold.
